So the engine is fooked on my V5 but I have picked up a low mileage T20C long engine, has anybody had any experience with this swap? I am looking at JT innovations for the avcs loom and probably do the newage coilpack conversion, then alcatek ecu.
Not sure if the V5 inlet manifold will fit yet, and also a bit unsure about the power steering pump.

Any help is appreciated gents.

Engine is nearly ready to go in, been bolting everything up loosely and finding the many bits that dont fit without modifications.

Few updates on mine.

Fitted a JDM 6 speed with dccd.

Decided to go top feed conversion and hybrid vf30.
Just waiting on my clutch and flywheel then I can pop it back in.

Hoping to have it mapped and on the road by Summer and then it needs some handling mods and a bit of bodywork.

Very nice. Engine is looking smart. Personally i would run the lines under the manifold for a cleaner look but as i said it's a personal thing.

Keep up the good work.

Johnny.

Cheers. Custom billet gt2871r. It's a bit small for my needs and maxed at 2bar hence the boy never gets up there like the torque. Still goes like **** though haha

Finally got my car back last week after almost a month off the road for mods/upgrades/mapping. Car is now running at a respectable 519bhp & 506 ft/lbs. I definitely think that's the last of the power upgrades for me as it is a bit of a handful at this level now and I don't really track the car often.

I will be up at RAF Leuchars in St Andrews on Saturday 20th May for "Supersonic Saturday" where I have a passenger ride in a McLaren P1, a high speed flat out run in my car down the runway ad then I have 2 x drag races against the McLaren P1 in my car. I believe Andy Forrest is also coming to drag race the P1.

I love to keep her nice and clean as well so after a month of being in and out of the garage with oily hands all over her I treated her to a full paintwork decontamination detail, clay bar, machine polish and 2 coats of Swissvax wax and she has come up like brand new. Just have a lot of love for this wee car. It goes like the clappers and just drives lovely. Can't see me ever getting rid of it.

Finally got the engine in and started making/fitting all the hoses/brackets to get it working. Also busy making a frame/duct to mount the Rad up front (V mount). Still hoping to have it on the road this Summer. 💩

First map done, I haven't driven it yet as I am at work so cant comment on how it is. But I am pleased with the 370bhp from the billet VF30.

If I've got the right person, then is this your old car?

Here's mine there last year before it was parked up for the strip and engine rebuild...

Thanks bonesetter

The car is a bit of a Frankenstein. Only the shell is original with everything bolted to it coming from a widetrack STI (absolutely everything) including the subframes and suspension. Currently its sitting on bog standard widetrack STI shocks and springs. It does currently sit quite high and quite stiff compared to the standard Type R but I've a set of lowering springs to go on this year that should hopefully iron that out a bit.

I may have a similar pic to Cullenmins one from Wiseman Photography to compare a bit more like for like.

Are the wheels sticking out using the widetrack suspension or do you still have room in the arches?

I still have mine but it's been off the road almost 8 years but I finally got it started with the new engine a couple of months ago. I need to have it mapped and I'm also looking over the brakes right now and some other bits so that it will pass the vehicle inspection so I can get it back on the road for this season. But it's a good one really, no rust. I'm thinking about which coilovers to upgrade to. At the moment it has D2 coilovers from about 2006-2007. I don' know what to get, the roads here are fine really most of the time so I don't have the problem as you do with your B roads.

Just to add one thing, this year I've had it for 11 years so it feels unlikely I'll ever sell it And I'm still looking for two Prodrive centre caps in gold after all these years so if anyone has a set let me know.

The wheels are sticking out a little bit but thats because I got the geometry setup back to "normal" after changing out the previously chopped springs.

This is how it is now, even after arch rolling they stick out a little. Its worst at the rear. Thats on JDM spec tyres - 235/45/17's
