Default Silver Hawkeye WRX

So I have recently just purchased my first Subaru, a nice 2006 WRX type uk Hawkeye in silver. Thought may as well do a thread for it as all my cars I end up getting carried away with so will be nice to look back on.

I have come from the world of drifting and currently sold my drift car after 4 years of ownership and needed to buy something that would give me happiness until I can afford to fund it again 🤣

I originally was going to keep this car as I brought it but after two weeks of owning It i have ordered loads of parts and now it’s in for a remap on the 22 May so not sure what’s happened there.

Previous drift car >>>>

The wrx the day I collected it 😎 was super happy with the car it drove perfectly and couldn’t fault it at all. Full Service history and was super clean.

First proper clean in my ownership. mrs also brought a new car, Audi TT so did some photos together.

First modification to the car was a forge recirc valve

I then found my self a second hand Perrin intake pipe on Facebook and an k&N air filter. My Mrs brother works at racing lines so he managed to get me a silicon coupler and some nice clamps along with some hose insulation so I could stop my coolant lines rubbing against the intake. Had loads spare so decided to cover a few more lines with it as it smartens up the engine bay a little.

I then fitted my lovely new parts and decided my engine bay was not clean enough so spent a whole day cleaning it and degreasing. It was a pain but well worth it in the end 😆

I then brought my self a greddy radiator cap and still waiting for my other one to arrive why they didn’t come together I don’t no.

Ordered some enkei rs reps as I really liked these wheels but didn’t want to pay £2000 for genuine as this was just meant to be a nice daily for me without spending to much modifying it. 8.5j et35 18 These will be having Nankang ns2r semi slicks fitted to them.

I’m now on the hunt for coilovers and then it will be going for alignment. 😎

The car already had a cat back exhaust fitted when I brought the car so it’s booked in for a remap with Duncan at race Dynamix 22 May see how it feels after that and to if I take it any further perfomance wise after that it should do me for a little bit.

Plans to come are a carbon front splitter, carbon sti wing, some canards and carbon skirts a rear defuser and then I’m not really sure from there see what happens.

Hi and welcome!

I started my Subaru life in a crystal grey hawkeye WRX some 12 years ago now. Great car.

I also noticed your classic beetle on the driveway. Another project? I've got a 63 bug I never get to use.

Cheers, yes is a great car definitely the best day to day car I’ve had so far.

The beetle is the other half’s it’s a 73. She has had it for a couple of year now but decided we are going to paint it this year so have started stripping it down now.

Did you manage to find a beetle that didn't need floor pans, heater channels, rain gutter etc etc etc?

Good find then. I've had plenty, they all have their problems but are all great fun when they actually work. Mine is awaiting a new starter motor again. Bloody things.

I'm also partial to the STI fog covers too. I have a set of genuine ones (already in your car colour) for sale if interested?
