Just a thought.... What are they doing testing the clutch at higher revs before it is mapped for the new exhaust? Or has it already been mapped?

I was told it was slipping on the way to the dyno so mapping was cancelled and the car brought back to Torque GT. I was then informed. What the hell do you say to that lol

Im more amazed that they are trying to charge you for a clutch in a car that was inspected but now has a clutch slipping and youve never even set foot in it!!!

Would you have bought the car knowing it has a slipping clutch?

What the hell? The standard clutch on a Spec C should easily be able to cope with a chunk of extra power at 19k miles!

My re-map on the Spec C RA added at least 50 bhp and 50 lb/ft and it's not slipping at all!

Will see what price the clutch (and flywheel no doubt) costs tomorrow. I'm going to ask for them to go halves as a goodwill gesture. It's an auction car so nobody would have driven it before buying. The knackered tyres should definately have been picked up on. The new tyres that they fitted were trade. Even though I could have bought them online and fitted locally cheaper than I am getting charged by them....

I would have negotiated an uprated clutch change prior to purchase for sure.

If it seems I'm picking on Torque GT that's certainly not how I mean to come across. Darren is great. I'm just keeping my thread updated.

It's an issue when buying an auction car - it's not really the importers "fault" that the cars may have issues. However, as the importer demands a premium for the service, there is an element of expectation that certain things are honored.

Had I not bought new, I would have stuck with Torque and Darren to import a car - PT82, you know I had a bit of a wobble over a car at GT but I was still happy to continue using them.

Just a little update. I'm having a stage 2 organic competition clutch fitted with a lightened flywheel. Free fitting and the value of new standard items knocked off the price. Very fair deal in my opinion and piece of mind that the dreaded clutch slip won't come knocking!!

Dyno results from Enginetuner, 364bhp!

Happy with that. Not bad for an exhaust and a remap!

Car will hopefully be ready for collection Friday. Plans are to have it collected Monday and sent to Chevron Motorsport for fast road setup.

Me to lol
Will get a video up on collection day buddy. It has a resonator as I don't want trouble at trackdays, especially Donington where it's 95db!

2 Yellow Spec C's both mapped by Enginetuner, it would be interesting to see the differences. I think hedgecutter has the original Spec C exhaust whereas PT82 has a H&S with sportscat.
What panel filters did you both go for?

Any graphs? It would be great to see how much difference a 3inch (I assume) system makes.

I'm very interested as I've left a deposit on this: 2010 JDM Hatch STi just waiting for DVLA to send something

I have a Cosworth panel filter. The system is 3". Thats what Alan recommended.

That hatch looks lovely buddy. You should come to Japfest Donington. Not far from you.

I haven't been sent a graph but if there is a copy with the car I will post it up Friday night for you

Hedgecutter has a cat back system iirc. Hopefully will get them together sometime.
