Default Out with the old MY15 in with the New MY16

Some of you who know me knew I had the white hatch a few years ago to which I finally admitted defeat with & sold up and bought the more sedate MY15 STI. Great car covered 13,300 in 12 months with it & never missed a beat but then decided I'd had enough of not being able to keep it clean so Ordered a suitable replacement, MY16 in Pure Red. Not many of these over here thankfully. Anyhow here it is.

6 months after ordering she rocked up on the transporter

Got a test drive booked for next week to drive one of these at my localish Subaru dealer.

Only after a test drive can I then choose to keep my Type R, or sell it and use the money towards one of these!

Other car I am looking at is the BMW M2, but of course there is a big price difference between the two.

Would really like to know what you think of your new car in a couple of weeks time.

I don't usually like red cars, but that does look good

Believe it or not I didn't touch it for two days, then set to doing the PDI and doing what I had to including a full underseal etc

After all of the quick Subaru's I've owned its actually a refreshing change to change to something std with a few choice accessories fitted and not worry about anything.
Not the quickest but It handles incredibly well I find. If anything the grey one I had seemed a little quicker than this but this one is early days at the moment & is quite tight still

Would you not consider any mods in the future such as exhaust, intake and a remap?

That looks very good in red!! I guess this was a special order, were there any other options available that the UK doesn't usually get?

I recognise the garage, does Mike still work there?

If I still have it when the warranty is out then a fully built engine & appropriate mods to suit a moderate 500bhp would go on it. But for now I'm quite happy with the car as it is, So at the moment I wont be touching it.

Your right they don't do them for the UK market but they are available in the European markets. All they had to do was ask for one & sit back and wait 6 months for it to arrive

Different keyless access system. Minor changes in interior trim. Star link system with voice control & DAB now instead of the rather poor old style stereo, Changes in the steering wheel, minor Differences with the MFD in the top of the dash. Auto windows all around instead of just the drivers window.
