Update
5 out of the 7 carbon fibre covers will not fit
all designed to fit a standard car all currently for sale on the hatchback face book pages
a very costly mistake by myself who orders them we dust it off and we move on

the hks induction pipe has been replaced with a Perrin pipe all that’s left of the hks induction system is the filter itlsef
the Perrin pipe has been extending pushing the filter more into the wing area result
the blue hks joiners will be replaced with black Perrin/silcone items
ane all blue coolant hoses are going aswell
the oil cooler lines have been heat wrapped and routed


here are some pics the workmanship on the car is second to none
the help behind the scenes stuff I wouldn’t put on here has been nothing short of incredible
onwards we go

looking great so far buddy, the clinic really going all out on this.

now then...........hks induction kit, are you really keeping it? i dont think ive ever heard a good thing about them even on the evo forum.

Yes mate for the time being
the turbo was spotless when them removed it to do the tgvs

Am I the only one who loves the hks filter ? Lol
theyre is still quite a bit do do on the wiring side of it with sensors and ecu
depending on their workload I would hope mapping
will be end of next week or into the week after

if it was boxed off to an air intake to keep them temps down and moisture etc away then no probs

my disliking of the mushroom type filter is its just out in the open letting heat moisture etc straight in and nothing keeping it enclosed to be honest

its not too big of a deal in the hatches i dont think. Raggy has a direct cold air feed via front grill, same that is used by the factory snorkel onto airbox

the deep inner wing CAI with sealed/lid type airbox isnt strictly cold air either unless it has a direct feed from the bumper, or OE snorkel due under bonnet hot air being designed to displaced via the wing vents for and aft of the wheel, albeit the rear ones look sealed from factory by a small rubber lip but are open - there is a very good pic somewhere on the net showing the design of cold air in, hot air out on hatches under bonnet

if you ever look in a hatch you see the wings are wide open/vented at top where they join the top of the chassis. the theory is cold air pushed in via bonnet scoop is forced down, which in turn forces warm air up, which is then deflected via the underside of the bonnet down into the wings and vented out

how much of a bearing it has, or truth, i dont know personally but subaru must have thought it still wasnt enough with just the 2 vents so added an extra on top of the wing for the s206

Interesting because I asked for the clinic to remove the snorkel lol
the lads are going to do a few measurements on Monday to see if we can get a k&n on there instead of hks

in the meantime kev just send me a pic of toucan installed in the vent
Originally I sent over a dash mounted set up for the toucsn
then kev advised of neater option in vent and I may say it looks factory fit

that toucan install looks brilliant - its all coming together nicely for you

i kept my snorkel on - doesnt look out of place at all with the rest of the pipework, and is functional

Air going through the bonnet scoop is(when fitted) mainly for the intercooler and is "sucked out" the underside of the car using the venturi effect created by the engine/gearbox undercover and for MY11 onwards the centre covers as well.
Hot air from going through the radiator is drawn up and out through the wings as well as adding to the undercar route around the gearbox.

works great even with a front mount that some folks claim reduces the effectivness. my old classic would see temps approaching 110 on hot days, oil cooler and front mount fitted and never went over 90.

but this is why you choose a hot oil weight to suit that. Fair enough it never went above 90 but did you run the same hot oil weight after fitting? Or reduce it?

it's like mk1 golf gti had the warning in manual, if oil temp exceeds 140c stop engine and allow to cool that was for 10w40 oil.

110 on oil is far from hot, just because it's lower doesn't mean it's better

Changed out the hks silcone joiners with black Perrin items
the hks filter has been removed all measuresd up for a k&n
