Hey guys,
had my blobeye a few months now and since driving it I realised the headlights were crap..looked for projector headlights for the blobeye but after searching and chattin with scooby owners discovered they only come in a halogen type for blobeye..
I had a chat with a mate who sells HID's and told me he could get a projector kit for the blobeye subaru H7 fitment in 8000k...just had to wait a few weeks...
I didn't fancy hacking up my headlights, mounting BMW projectors..less damage as possible...
The kit arrived and I got started..(having fitting HID kits to many cars in the past I was hoping this wouldn't be so hard...)

once projectors where mounted..everything was re-sealed and screwed back together..

..it took a good few hours..but a mod worth doing....

the next day...and a few hours later...both finished...

the cost for the kit was £200 including ballast...and with a few hours to spare and sore fingers the headlights were now Bi -Xenons!!!!! Just need to wire them up and refit to the scooby..will get some pics up with beam of light to see the performance..woohoo..

those look superb, interested in beam pattern compared to my HID kit in reflectors, if I had confidence to strip headlights would be interested in this, is it possible to get just the reflectors so I can use my existing HID kit else I will end up with a kit left over.

looked at a kit like this before i did my retrofit. they are available from a company called OLLO (ollohid.com) based in Guangdong China. in the end i decided against these and did my own thing. i couldnt be sure on the beam pattern or light output.

daz1968 - the kits only come as a whole unit...
brockalightus - it has taken me a whole evening to fit maybe because I'm a perfectionist...cleaned engine bay,everything straight, ballast hidden, cable ties, wire tubing to get that factory look..u need to tap into the parking light, low beam and high beam before pluggin in the xenons..

MAAA-HOOO-SSSIVE Improvement.....really happy with the out come...the beam is not like the cheap, crappy aftermarket headlights which shoot straigh like a torch...the beam has a wide and even spread...I will compare them against my wifes BMW which has xenons from factory...

forgot to mention..they are Bi-xenons too...meaning when you flash someone or put in high beam the projectors/xenons get even brighter..will get pics up asap...bye bye to those dark country lanes...

look good with one exception - the cut off is the wrong way! ok for lhd cars, not good for use in the uk.

Hopefully the units have an adjustable shields like some OEM projectors.

dont think it would be that hard to swap them round to kick up on the left....

if you look at the light beam it kicks up on the right(light beam goes up) which would blind on-coming drivers..would be ok if we drive on the right...

 

hmm, ok but are these not adjustable? or better yet can we not swap the lenses over?

hummm..I will look into this..I was told the cut off would be a straight line so no need for lhd or rhd..let me get the lights adjusted properly at the mot station and I'll post more pics up....if so I will open up and modify..doooh

 

hi guys, new to scooby's, just about to pick my first one up now, it's an 05 blobeye... Cn you tell me is it difficult to get rid of the amber parts of the headlight and just change the types of indicator bulb ?

stipower00 - how are you getting on with changing your projectors to rhd settings? things seem to have gone a bit quiet on this. by the end of this week i hope to have finalised my twin projector retro for the blobeye & hope to post some decent pictures to show the results.

 

I thought blobeyes came with h1 fitment , i dont understand why you chose h7 fitment

 

Bit of a thread resurrection this, but is it possible to still buy kits like this and where do you get them from (as opposed to the kits that just use the conventional bulb slot, which I suspect will be a less focussed affair.
