Default Airbag light on after interior swap

I have put a set of v9 sti seats in my 2005 v8 wrx blob, connected all the connectors as per how they was on the original wrx seats but now the airbag warning light is on, all wires are connected and the seats from the sti do not have seat airbags fitted, why is my warning light now on

As a temporary fix I have removed the airbag light and I have never had an issue or problem, but is there a proper fix that I can do to remedy this issue as I'm concerned that under the new mot testing, my car may fail due to the airbag light not coming at all during the startup process

Could I simply disconnect the wiring under the seats and fit a loop of wire to complete the circuit or will this set the airbags off in the car

Anyone got any ideas on this,
Kind regards
Jeff

Mate I have a similar problem. Its because the original WRX seats have built in air bags and the STI seats don't have any.

ive done the fix it took 20 mins to get seats out and 5 mins for the fix its dead easy

2x 3.3ohm resistors from maplins think they cost £4(i got 4 just in case) and just connect the two wires together with the resistors. job done
