Default Unplugged wires by ECU in 2006 WRX
I was rooting around by my ECU and notice there is a blue plug taped to the ECU wires, but doesn't appear to be plugged in to anything.I didn't pull it fully out as running out of daylight.

The car is a 2006 WRX Type UK

I assume I don't need it, but does anyone know what it is for?

It's a shield joint connector
