2005 STI Type UK Key Fob
Hi Guys,
I purchased My 2005 STI Type UK, with only 1 key (Actually a bit worried someone has the other one...) like this one:
I remotely unlock the car and start the engine with it, and that's it.
It does not open the boot. Is that normal?
If I put it in the door lock, it does lock/unlock, but if I pull the handle to open, the alarm triggers...Is that normal?
Thanks for your help.

The boot lock is probably seized (mine is too on a 2005 uk sti, it did work when I purchased the car 3/4 years ago)
You could always buy another key and get the codes changed, Also yes that is normal for the alarm to go off when opening with the key.

The single button keys also includes the sigma alarm circuitry, from the earlier alarm fob on the pcb, hence opening the door using the key triggers the alarm.
The key also has a transponder chip in it that is coded to the cars ECU/security module. Any used key would need to be coded to the car and separately added to the sigma alarm.
Make sure you know/or set the Sigma alarm code PIN for use with the keypad in the coin tray (by drivers knee) should the battery die in the key or key loose it's link.

Yes I have a card with for numbers on it but not sure which one does what.
It is hand written:
Radio : 4digit
PINO : 4digit
L/W/N : 8digit
K/N : 5digit
Not sure if it is "/" or i

K/N is most likely the key number - useful for getting a new key cut at a Dealers.
If you haven't got a copy of the alarm user manual
sigma M30 user manual pdf
