Default Wiper sweep

do the window wipers have a relay to control the sweep? mine do a proper sweep then stop half way across the window..........

Yes, the wiper relay should do it, but I think, iirc, that there's microswitches in the wiper motor.

ive changed the motor itself and still the same so was wondering if im missing somehting

The park position for the wipers is controlled by the relay.

Is the relay underneath the steering wheel?

To save you looking , the wiper parking position is controlled, as per Alcazar's post, by contacts/switch in the motor unit.

No relay involved.

It isn't a stand alone relay, it's pcb mounted. The pcb is internally mounted in the switch housing.
Considering you have changed the motor assembly it has to be a fault in the switch, the relay may be sticking and releasing the contacts to slow or the contacts may be pitted etc. Either way it's not a matter of swapping a relay. you have to fit the full switch assembly.
