Default Anyone fitted a facelift centre console to an early classic?

Hi guys, am wondering if its possible to fit a facelift centre console into an early classic? The reason being I have fitted a six speed box with captive reverse gear ****, I know this can be adapted to fit but imho it doesn't look great and the gaiters always let go on the early type.

Cheers

How early?

I could tell you where the bolt holes are?

Its a my93 alcazar so big chunky rubber gaiter and double din stereo, the stereo is a must really as have just bought it. Never been in a facelift so have no reference as to wether its possible so any help you could give would be apreciated.

Can you post a pic of yours?
The storage bin and brake lever cover might fit, but maybe NOT the gear lever surround, which is the whole point.

There is a switch for the electric mirrors on the handbrake cover.

Do you know anyone with a later classic you could look at?

I'm not with the car now fella but have found this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SUBARU-IMP...#ht_500wt_1288

Thats the same gear surround as mine, I've had 3 so far and they always work themselves loose. The little lugs that hold the gaiter in place snap off plus they don't look very nice with the 6 speed selector fitted as the gaiter has to be loose due to the gearstick being longer. No don't know anyone with a facelift one to take a nose at unfortunately. Mirror switch isn't a problem for me, have even considered swapping the entire dash over to facelift but unsure wether the loom will need loads of work?

No that's entirely differnt to a facelift.

Here's one off a facelift: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Impreza-Cl...item4cfde5916f

TBH, I've heard of people doing a dash swap, but the work is horrendous. Plus you'd need new doorcards too......

Yeah I thought changing dashes would be a bit of a mission, didn't even think about the doorcards. O well, back to the drawing board. Thanks anyway
