Default Problem with Defi Gauge

Defi oil temp gauge working intermitently. Goes through the start sequence fine, but usually does not show any temp movement. Sometimes shows 70 degrees, but usually does not move. Even when showing 70 it may just flick back to mimimum temp and sit there, then flick back to 70 for a while

All wires are connected. The other two Defi gauges work fine.

Anyone had a similar issue? Any ideas on how to check whether it is the gauge, sender or pssible damage to the wiring.

Try earthing the body of the sender direct back to the battery.

Also, check connections from sender to control box, and from control box to gauges.

My guess would be the former, then the wiring to the control box: the pins come lose
