I've got a set of Defis plus pod etc etc waiting to be fitted to my P1. I am, however, tempted to flog them and get a Psi3 SECS setup instead. As I understand it the SECS won't measure oil pressure and temp but on the other hand measures all sorts of other stuff instead.

Anyone have the SECS unit fitted and have any opinions of it? I like the Defis because they're a bit of a toy and I'm a bit of a child but I suspect the SECS probably offers a bit more useful info

My only concern is that as soon as I buy one an even better all-singing and dancing one will come out.....

Any thoughts?

if you want 'toys' then go for the SECS. lots of nice buttons to press. that's what I'm going for.

Picked up a SECS on Monday... blooming sweet also, apparently a sensor pack is being produced for things like oil temp etc.

Just to clarify
1. Software upgrades are very simple and will cost approximately £10, at anytime a unit can be upgraded to include the latest software whatever it's current version.

2. The next major upgrades will be EGT, Oil Temp, Oil Pressure inputs - we will supply a kit containing whichever sensors required, cable assembly and software upgrade. We are also working on a Knock indicator which will be a add on to existing units.

Question

Possibly too early to tell, but any idea what each sensor kit will cost - roughly?

Mate, let us know if your going to sell your defi`s
I`d be interested in them for my STI 5 Type R.
How did you get on with Tileys after Saturdays Rolling Road ?
Did they find any problems with your P1 ? Mine was on just
after you`d left and I was expecting a few more ponies too !!

Thumbs up

Hiya mozza - I'll let you know about the Defis; got a friend at work who has first dibs

Took the car over to G-Force motorsport on Monday morning to get a power run done on their all-singing-and-dancing new rolling road. They did 4 or 5 runs and ended up with 269.1Bhp and 244Tq. They found that it's down on boost (should be peaking at about 1.15 ish but is in fact only just making 1.0) and that it's also running massively rich (off their scale!) : don't think this affects the performance, just my fuel bill
Phil at Tileys took some photocopies of the graphs and is going to get back to me about it. Suspect I might have a boost leak somewhere.....?

i've got mine mounted on top of a 3gauge pod for the moment, until the offical subaru pods arrive.
it currently looks like this:

i will post more pics after its fitted properly, i'm also having a shift light installed at the same time, it just plugs into the back of the monitor and the rev counter settings are adjustable on screen.
cool.

Question

Am I right in thinking that there is still a major shortage of the pods for the S1003 versions of the monitor??? Any news of when they will arrive?? Getting V impatient!

Matt, i will either put them up the a-pillar or sell them, i've not decided yet.

i still want to keep the oil temp and pressure until the new software is available.

PICKLE, we have a large quantity of both types of top pod ( New Age and Classic ) on order, still waiting on Subaru but should have some stock early next week.

Yes, at present they will only work with standards ECU's ( original map and re-flashed map ) , our MoTeC version will be ready very soon and will be followed by other ECU variations e.g. Link.

Give it time & SECs will probably support pressure, temp, knock etc too.
