been contemplating one for a few weeks now, my next mod for the impreza is a short shifter kit with uprated bushes so one of these would finish it off nicely.

Hi Bud,

I have one of these, they are proper solid and are shipped from the states I think. Below is a pic of the one I bought and fitted to my 04 blob eye, super easy to fit and I think it really looks the part

It is made from a solid billet I think so is quite heavy but is waaay better that the original one I had which was looking a bit tired. Think I am going to need some gloves in the winter though #Snowflake

No that was the hardest part because like you I was scared of breaking the shaft of the gearstick. After watching some youtube vids i finally plucked up the courage to just grip the stick with one hand and then proper twist the old one off, as soon as I broke the 14 years worth of crud seal it came off easily.

Tip for when installing the new one, do not tighten the new **** onto the threaded adaptor (supplied as part of the kit) until you have lined up the text to be fully in-line....I did this and the text was 90 degrees out...after lots of swearing I finally managed to separate the two parts to try again. If I read the instructions properly it does day to do this but I was being a typical bloke and thought I could do it without reading them haha
