Indicator cancelling on Subaru classic
Ive removed my airbag system from my uk2000 as it was damaged. Now my indicators don't cancel, I have to do it by hand. I have a indicator stalk from an import that I was thinking of using. Which is the bit on the stalk that does the cancelling

Hmmm interesting. When I removed my squib there wasn't one there but on my other stalk which is from an import there was a spring which I fitted to the car and still nothing works

I have a MY99 with an HKB boss which allows you to re-use the clockspring/squib to retain indicators-canceling and horn-push functionality.
So, I assume the squib IS needed...?
What did the non airbag models have instead
Unless that MY ALL had airbags...?

I assumed early import classics didn't have a airbag. I have an import stalk with a horn bit that sticks out of the stalk to work. But not on my uk2000. When I'm next in the attic I will dig it out and get a picture of it

Hold on, what year is your 2000 Turbo? I assumed it was at least MY97, as you mentioned about your airbag.
If however, it's a MY94-96 'phase 1', then I know the JDM cars, at least, had no airbag - as you mention. So did the early UKDM cars get an airbag steering wheel, then? (If so, I didn't necessarily realise that. )
Whatever, if you have a MY97-00 airbag car, then I doubt you can (easily, at least) convert it to a 'non-airbag' solution by using MY93-96 stalks.
Although, I could well be wrong....

Apparently I have a uk2000 it's a 1997 model. Although it did have a wrx sticker on the boot. Anyhow when I got the car the airbag system was knackered so I removed everything airbag related for the mot. I was gonna go down the import route of fitting the stalk off an import because I assumed early classics didn't have a airbag.

Assuming you can see the following.....
MY92-96 (no airbag)
MY92-96 (air bag)
My97 onwards (air bag)
JDM models follow a similar pattern

Unfortunately, you have the weaker 4-bolt TY752 box... Generally, people don't like to go beyond 350/350 on the 5sp. (I'm actually running 384/349 on my std 5sp, albeit it's the 8-bolt MY99/00 TY754 job).
But that's not your limitation, regardless.
Your car only has 380cc grey injectors (the yellow 440cc were only fitted to the MY99/00 UK cars). And you only have a front entry TD04L 13g turbo. These items are usually only good for around the 280bhp mark, after mapping.
That said, that'd be a very noticeable 35% increase in power (and a bit less for peak torque). I basically did the same on my old MY93 WRX and it went from the std 237bhp to 282, and it was well worth it! Plus, you have the best OEM turbo for response/spool-up for that amount of power/torque.
So you'll notice the difference even more so!
Plus given the age, etc., it's probably wise not to go further anyway. You'll need an aftermarket ECU option... ESL daughterbboard being the obvious/cost-effective choice. It basically allows you to use all the OEM features of the existing ECU. It's MAF-based, so you won't have to replace anything under the bonnet, other than perhaps do a mini service beforehand, inc. new NGK PFR6B plugs, new K&N panel filter, fuel filter, oil/filter, etc. A decat (or sports cat) downpipe would be beneficial, as well as a less restrictive system...

Seems expensive. When I had my forester turbo that was on a W plate I took it to Andy car at teg motorsport in Cumbria some years ago i think it was 450 for ecuteck I think maybe 500 plus 25-30 per extra like flat floor **** etc .Im in rush for any of that right now. I want my indicator stalk sorting first and some bushes
