Default blob rear speakers

Hey,

I got a set of Vibe slicks 6.5" removed from my old car.

Took the rear door cards off the found it had some Kenwood 2-ways speakers fitted:

Are they standard speakers?

I can't see any pod being used at the back of the speakers and the mounts doesn't look right to me. 1 screws at the top and 1 at the bottom, and then some sort of plastic clip on the bottom right...

Any suggestions??

These Vibe 6.5" commonly used in our blobs here are being recommended. Where are you guys buying them from?
Also interested in upgrading the fronts also running of a new pioneer head unit.

Its annoying as I want to keep the factory cd player to keep it all original, so the vibes wouldn't be used to their full potential in mine.

Experience tells me running any upgraded speakers of the standard headunit will be pointless. If your going to do it and do it once then your better of changing the head unit with something with a better output then what the standard will give you. I dont think you will notice much difference if you do, but I hear you about trying to keep everything else standard.

If I did upgrade I'd go for a face off double din screen but can't justify getting one, only then I suppose I could warrant upgrading the speakers. It's a shame as I rarely listen to CDs in the car as u try and take full advantage of that lovely flat four burble, on long journeys though I will listen to music and the fronts are beginning to crack on the lower tones, plus the factory Kenwood is always up at volume 22 to get anywhere near an audible level!

Mate I put some Hertz speakers in mine recently and it has made a big difference. Have a listen at the next meet.

i just wanted to upgrade without amp etc and am happy with this set up,sounds much better as i have larger speakers now and no distortion due to dynamat.

put components in the front and they are ten times better than the originals.

Me again! If you have an amp running 4x50 watts will this be on top of the RMS power the headunit provides?

Do you run these front and back or could I get away with running them just at the front? As you can tell I have no idea! I'll pm what I'm considering to save cluttering up the thread and you can tell me if its going to sound poo or not!
