Question Ported or sealed?

I have decided on the Sub but now I am confronted with which type of box to get.

Rockford Fosgate recommend either a 1.25cu/ft Ported or a 0.85cu/ft sealed box for this particular sub. I have always had ported boxes in the past, is there any real difference in performance/sound if the box is ported or not?

A ported sub will sound more instantly impressive, but is not as well controlled and accurate as a sealed.
Also a ported can boost output slightly too.
How much power are you putting through the sub?

The Sealed box will give you much tighter bass, But it wont be as deep as the ported type. It's not hard to make a box if you know the internal volume.

Carpentry isn't my strong point!

1.25 cubic/ft for the ported.
