I have the avic x1 and can say it is a fantastic piece of kilt. All in one unit means there isnt loads of extra boxes to find places for. Easy to fit too, i fitted mine myself. One cotrol box to fit which i fitted under drivers seat. Shop round as i only paid £1500 delivered as appose up to £2000+ others wanted.

Mark,

Do you have to keep putting the DVD in the AVC as your journey progresss. Just with it being all in one - not totally sure how it works especially if you need to reroute?

No you map your destination first then remove the disc, it then switches to memory navi mode so you can then watch a dvd or listen to cd or radio with voice over.

Great m8 apart from a remote would make the dvd easier to operate. With it been touch screen and loads of menus it can get confusing as to where you should go. But overall for the money its the best i have come across. You also have a input for the reverse camera if you wanted one.

well I have the 7500 and I would say go with that and not the x1.

The x1 is officially the flagship, but price wise there is nothign in it, because all the goodies are removed from the 7500. It depends if you want the navigation more than the toys in the 7500 such as a 7 inch screen instead of 6.5 and dolby dig and dts plus self set and and time alignment.

Extra boxes if you want sat nav, but in my opinion start with the better model and add the sat nav onto that. Plus if you are forced to reroute mid journey you dont have to re-enter the navi disc. but then I never watch dvds anyway, I just bought it because it looked great.

Have it now and am more than happy with it.

Absolutely Chuffed......

As mentioned above...The SAT NAV is a novelty But thats the point LOL

Im thinkin of purchasing the complimentary DVD Changer so that u can use the SAT NAC DVD, MP3 and CD's at the same time

Its fitted together with white 52mm Defi gauges with control unit and the lot lit up at night is SIMPLY AWESOME.
