Hi,can anyone inform me as to what size speakers are fitted on the front & rear doors of my sports wagon 2002 model and which replacement speakers would be the best.JVC 828 Double din unit will be shortly installed. Thanks

 

Tasso - we had a NIGHTMARE getting speakers in! - everybody said something different, and it was all wrong, in the end we fitted 6.5" JBL GTO components in - when I say fitted, it involved a lot of hassle - if you want to mail me we can give you help re the collars and stuff. It seemed a lot harder to get speakers into the bug-eye than the shop originally thought - maybe there is different clearance compared with older models? Anyway, having finally got it sorted we'd be more than happy to give you some advice so feel free to pop an email over to wrx.girl@virgin.net if you need more info.

 

Also - are you fitting a double-din just because of the size of the 'gap' after removing the Scooby double-din? - we nearly did this, but then realised that it is possible to put a standard single-din in with a pocket underneath (pocket cost about £18) - again, it's a bit of a fiddle and you need to use the brackets off the original double din, but you can get it all in with original surround if you want to. It took about 8 weeks to get the ICE sorted in mine, the sizings all seem different to previous Scoobs and even the head unit pocket is a bit small for a standard size, so you have to mount the unit behind and the face-off bit in front - anyway, don't know where you are but can recommend an excellent shop in Devon who are rapidly become experts in the 02-model ICE installs!
