What makes certain software stay useful over the years while others get replaced quickly?

I think simplicity matters most. Software that’s easy to understand survives longer. When life is already busy, nobody wants to fight with complicated menus or constant updates just to finish basic tasks.

Initially, we experiment more, but over time, we value stability and familiarity. I’ve noticed that people tend to stick with tools that integrate smoothly into their routines, whether for work, creativity, or personal use.
