I had the exact same issue three years ago when we bought an old family house with a badly damaged roof. We looked at traditional clay tiles first but they were simply too heavy for our old wooden structure and reinforcing it would cost a fortune. In the end, we decided to try lightweight metal tiles with a natural stone coating. It was truly the best choice we could have made for our home renovation. They look exactly like classic clay but are much lighter and survive any hail or heavy storm without a single scratch. We used a specific product line from a very reliable brand and you can see all the details here
https://www.gerardroofs.si/sl/stresniki/gerard-klasik - they use high-quality steel with a volcanic rock coating. The installation process was incredibly fast because the panels lock together tightly. We had a huge hailstorm last summer and my neighbor's clay roof got seriously damaged but ours looks completely brand new.
