If you have removed the lines down the passenger side you may need some new fuel lines!! Brake lines are down the drivers side... Unless you have a lhd car!

Lol I've found the lines that run down the drivers side but I haven't taken them out yet all the front lines are out and abs pump and the proportioning valve. Was wondering whether to leave the rear lines in place and ask proline if they could make something up to join them to the master cylinder and if I do keep the rear lines would it be worth using the proportioning valve or just get shut

When I talked to proline he told me that it wasn't absolutely nessery to fit a bias valve so now I'm even more confuesed than before, will the proportioning valve stop the rear brakes locking up and over taking the front. How does the proportioning valve work I'm not stupid but have never really messed with brakes in this depth before and I learn as I go so forgive me if the questions sound silly

Not necessarily, it depends upon what your long term plans are. The bias valve would sit in the car whilst the proportioning valve would sit under the bonnet so the hoses would be different so it's worth deciding now otherwise you'll need new hoses if you decide to fit a bias valve in the future.

I've got a full kit coming monday with no bias valve I ordered it thinking I didn't need one or the other. If I keep the rear lines and put the proportioning valve back and screw the lines back in is it possible to have some lines made up to run in to it cos it has the two holes for the lines that go to the abs pump

I would expect a properly made kit to connect from the MC to the proportioning valve and then on to the rear brakes; there's equal pressure coming from both outlets on the MC and something needs to manage the balance - I am talking from experience on a newage but I would be surprised if it is not similar for classics too

I've have a newage sti master cylinder fitted because I've got brembo's on the front and single pots on rear. I'm going to talk to proline tommorow and see if I can have a line made up to go into the proportioning valve because I'm not sure if the kit I've got coming uses it I think it gets rid of it.

Cars fitted with abs do not have a proportioning valve, its just a splitter block. The abs module does the bias, its only the non abs models which actually have a proportion valve.
I have supplied many a kit with no bias connection with great results.
As i have said in previous posts and pms, it does all depend on driving style etc and what the car is used for etc. I always recommend fitting a bias valve but due to many a test via sold kits it appears its not necessarily needed.
Phil, if you like return the long line from bmc to rear tee piece and il add a break for bias connection, i can also supply the bias valve if needed...or just see how you get on with the car as is.

I'm going to fit the kit as is and see how I get on and if I need a bias valve then I'll just send it back to you or is there any way of keeping the rear lines so I don't have to strip them out of the car because I'm pushed for time and due back to work any time now. I've got the front all ready to go but left the rear in place for now
