Default Bungs for Afterburner Vortex/Hayward & Scott Back boxes Group Buy From Hayward & Scot

Hi, i have recently found out that Hayward & Scott can supply removable bungs for Afterburner Vortex back boxs from Scoobyworld and for other exhausts that they make, they may also be able to supply for other makes but contact them first. They will drop noise by approx 6db, which will make it easier to pass track day noise limits and reduce noise for those long motorway journeys. After speaking to Ian, he is willing to do them at a reduced rate for a group buy, please see below and add your name if you are intersted.

9)
10)

Group buy will close 18th of March

Update:
Message that i recieved from Ian at Hayward and Scott
They work by producing a bit of back pressure in that huge tailpipe which due to the size of it makes it slighty louder. The bung reduces the DB by approx 6 decibals, and makes the sound more bearable on the motorways .......trust me.
Ian

Scoobyworld rate there Afterburner back box and both decats at somewhere over 100db. So i am guessing that it will be over 94db. I do not no what the limit is for the road, i think racing circuits have a limit of 98-100db but no definate on this.

Payments
payment are as before with group buys ....ring up with details and then the goods will be sent.

this is excellent timing. i was going to stick a load of sound deadening under the back seats and in the boot. what with the baby on the way the noise level would have been a problem. This is a much better option. i can make it quieter when the kid is in the car and then when i'm on my own take it out.

if you take a pic of the back of your car straight on and e-mail it to me i'll have a go at photoshopping it when i take the pic of mine. seeing as we both have classic shape scooby and the same exhaust it should work. then you can see what it'd look like on your car

One question though, what's the best method for drilling the backbox ready for the bung.......don't want to damage the nice shiny finish.

Thanx.

Si.

ps:when does this g/b end?

Will be putting a end date of 10th of March, hopefully have ten people by then. If anyone has a problem with this date please let me no.

Si - No idea of how to drill it yet, but will probably drill a hole in the bottom of mine as this will also stop any water building up inside it due to the angle of my back box.

I will be up for this .... just want to see one fitted .... to get an idea of where the hole has to be drilled!

Also, any idea how much the P&P on something like this will be?
