(GI) 2008 + Triple Pod similar to ATI
After months of searching and getting nowhere fast i've finally found a fabricator who is interested in making us a triple pod for the 2008 onwards dash.
I did try speaking to ATI and there main supplier in the states only to be told there's not enough interest for them for RHD.
I've sent the below images to the fabricator who states he can make it but will need to use a dash for about 5 minutes to take measurements etc.
He asked about fixing and i informed him that people wouldn't be happy drilling into their dashes so it'll be fixed with 3M tape.
I'm needing 15 people who would be interested and i'll be putting up the cash. I can't confirm a price yet but should be much cheaper than the ATI one for LHD.

The ones pictured are made by ATI and only for left hand drive vehicles.
It's planned that the ones made up will fit better but will be secured by tape to prevent screwing into the dash like the ones above.

It's a slow work in progress. Struggling to find anyone who lives near to Merseyside with a hatch / saloon who can pop along for some measurements to be taken.
I've spoke with a few 3D printing companies that are closer to me so they can use my car to take measurements.
I may have to buy an ATI pod, adapt it until we're happy and then start the process.

Seems a lot of effort when japanparts sell triple gauge pods and double ones for the hatch
Not sure about this one but looks better than a massive thing hanging off the top of your dash lol

This one is for two gauges and then put one on the steering colum

They do them for 60mm and there are loads to chose from including cheaper ones not just carbon ones,, I just put up a couple of links to show they do them ,, to be honest I'm not really a fan of anything on the top of my dash as none of the pods look right so I went for a defi link display instead and it does the job just fine

There aren't loads and the only half decent IMO gauge is the zero sports twin gauge which sits to the right of steering console. This is going to be well over £200 delivered once customs, vat, shipping, awful current exchange rates etc
I personally wouldn't want a defi monitor as you can't glance at them while you driving as more often or not they need to be secreted which pretty much defeats the object.

Never had any problems with my defi display and I set my warnings so I don't have to watch my gauges all the time as it will bleep and flash if there is a issue and I have a single pod on top of my speedo cluster in eye line

The Pod on the top console is disgned so you can glance at it in you perphial vision while still concentrating on the road. On all my previous subarus i have fitted them and much prefer it this way. If you want a digital display with numbers secreted out of the way of your driving vision you should have bought a Toucan
As for the pods on Japan Parts, bar the zero sports i previously mentioned there are no pictures of them fitted. In addition, before shipping and taxes they're already well over the £250 mark.
I didn't ask for peoples opinions, (GI) means is gauging interest. We all have our own preference.

Toucan is a lot more money than I spent on my defi display (£100)
They might be expensive but I bet they all fit ok ,, even if I was interested in this pod without a secure way of holding it onto the top of the dash those of us with flocked dashes will have to try other ideas ,, plus I like my clock and average fuel display being there if I'm honest
Don't get me wrong I think what your doing is a great idea and more people should do things like this , sorry if I came across wrong as I didn't mean to sound like I was saying people wouldn't want them as I'm sure you will get lots of taker as there haas been a few threads with people asking about them

Hi mate.
Yes and no is the short answer.
I've spoke with a couple of uk companies who work with Cad and 3D printing. They've said the best way would be for me to buy an Ati pod and have them mirror it and then start printing. Trying to get them to give me a rough price is a pain in the ****.
I do know some one in the states who's put me on to a company who do pods that attach to the top dash vent. He assures me that they look great once installed but they're quite pricey.
The third option is replacement air vents but in 60mm which is going to have to be designed as the companies I've spoken to only do it in 52mm.
I've bought a triple pod for a classic and I'm currently "playing" with it trying to make a smooth and rigid design to make it fit and then obviously find the right colour to match the dash.
Sorry to bore you but just wanted to let you know I haven't given up and I have 5 X 60mm JDM prosport gauges I'm dying to fit to the spec c

I've tried purchasing an ATI pod which never showed from the states. A PayPal dispute and a couple of hundred emails later and I got the cash back.
I'm off to the states in October so I was thinking of buying one while I'm out there and starting the project again on my return.
Sorry it's been a bit slow but with selling my house, moving and selling everything it's been put on the back burner a little.
