Default Catch can advice

Have been doing a fair bit of reading on this area, and given that the intercooler I had when I bought my car was verging on knackered (have since gone FMIC) I'm considering adding a catch can to the engine bay to avoid similar getting into the new FMIC core.

I've read a few FAQ's on NASIOC and on here, but there seems to be some disagreement over what's best to install.

The guys in the US seem to be in favour of a dual setup, whilst over here people seem to be split between that approach, and various other configurations.
Some say vent to atmosphere with a breather is right, whilst others say that routing the clean air back into the system to keep pressure up is better.
I have to say the latter sounds sensible to me (especially if it means I don't get fumes into the cabin), but what do those of you who are running them think?
Either way I'm going for a baffled can, but what would people recommend?

I've found a few, ranging in price, but admit I don't know enough about this stuff. Happy to install it, but what to go for.

I have a 3 port obd baffled set up that vents to atmosphere through a breather under the car.
I fitted mine when I put on a fmic to avoid a build up of crap in the new intercooler.
the amount of crap that's in it when I empty it I really wouldn't want that returned to my sump.

mines an obp 3 port baffled version, about £65 quid is and a tenners worth of tubing and a few clips to fasten the pipes on and a breather filter.

there is not a lot of room to fit one in the newage engine bay, I fabricated a bracket at work to fit it too.

The polished ali doesnt really take my fancy, my sec air pump is being removed leaving a nice hole for mine when its ready.

To the OP I hope this answers your question. 1, 3 port can is enough with a breather, ive seen pics and real life scenarios of what gets left in the cans and I for sure wont be plumbing into the sump.

Whether or not its 'burnt off' when returned. If your going to track it alot, I assume youd carry spare oil anyway.

Running one on mine and can't fault it - I've adapted mine so it vents to air not back to the inlet.

The only thing I'd say is this one:
http://www.obpltd.com/obp-shop/alloy...ank-for-subaru
...the inlets seem to be a bit on the small side for a turbo car?

I thought it should have 15mm inlets, in which case wouldn't it be this one that I should buy?

Anyone?
The only issue with the 15mm inlet can seems to be that the inlet at the top would be harder to run a hose out of and then back under the car.

heres mine, I would take more pics but its raining.

as said earlier its installed on the passenger side strut tower with a bracket I made at work.

the top hose goes down the side of the engine and underneath the car and has a filter on the end.

I have no air pump on my car as its a 2.0 sti plus I have a fmic so the top mount isn't in the way either.

yes it has a gauge on the side, its the obp one mentioned in the link above.
To empty it I need to undo one bolt that holds it on the bracket and empty.

it takes about 6 to 8 weeks to fill over the last year.

obviously you can return to sump but I didn't due to the amount of crap you get inside the can.

It's tempting to copy the install guide on here and buy 2 cheapy ebay jobs for £20 a piece like these ToyoSports ones and just chuck a baffle into each...
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1906474355...84.m1423.l2648

£70 is a lot for something that's basically a can with 4 outlets!

I know the difference is only £30 but I'm just wondering what the up and down sides are to venting the pressure to atmosphere with the 3 port, as opposed to putting it back through the system with 2 x 2 port cans.
