Default 2003 sti ppp weird problem

hi, just wondering if anyone can help me out. i've got a 2003 blob sti with just the ppp fitted and a baileys bov, and had no problems with it for the last 7 months owning it until now.
bear with me as its a bit of a weird one to explain. basically occasionally (although happening more and more often) on gentle acceleration ie off a roundabout in 2nd or 3rd gear there is a loud sucking/hissing noise like a huge boost leek for a second or two and hardly accelerates. then with my foot still down seems to close up, normal boost is restored and off it goes. this also happens changing up to 3rd, 4th, and sometimes 5th. it is normal when i rev it with the bonnet up and only does it under load?
anybody got any ideas?

cheers, yer did think about that but the car didn't come with one when i bought it, just the baileys bov which still looks new, and its been fine the last 7 months with it on. i did give it a quick spray with wd40 but made no difference. would there be anything else it could possibly be?

probably absolutely nothing to do with it being PPP.
Check all vacuum pipes and certainly the one from the manifold to the brake servo.

im with these guys on this put back on standard one, and make sure everything is tight, car doesn't boost when revving only when accelerating, sounds like the seal for the BOV has failed or come loose

As above, baileys DV's are known to be poor. Get a standard one back on it as soon as you can. Until then get some WD40 and whilst reving the engine under the bonnet spray Into where you see the piston in the DV moving, this should clean it and more than likely cure it. If it doesn't check all your boost pipes and if you still can't find anything then get it to a specialist to get it checked out.

I'm on my phone and didn't see the bit about you using the WD already. Check that it has been bolted on correctly and that the gasket between the DV and the inter cooler are sealed correctly. Before removing though make sure you have another gasket or at least some gasket material to make your own. Before removing try using a water bottle to our water around where the DV is bolted to see if air is escaping whilst you rev it.
