If anyone comes across creaking from the front end of a new age or in my case a 2005 sti, it's not the suspension shock that I thought it was for a good 2 months.
I was cleaning off a lovely big bird turd from the bonnet when as I put a very small amount of pressure on the bonnet it was the exact creaking sound that I had been hearing for all that time. Panic over but now I have the annoying creaking bonnet. Someone any idea what I can do to remove the creak.

 

I'd try twisting the little rubber cusions to stop movement on the bonnet they are either side next to your lights, failing that a bit of silicone spray maybe?

 

I've twisted the rubber gromets with no results. I would use silicon spray but I can't work out for the life of me why or where it's creaking. It's around just above the battery and fuse box.

 

mine is the same drives me nuts!! can you hear it over rought road surfaces, over speed bumps etc

 

Same here. I've wondered in the past if it's the windscreen washer hoses getting rubbed between the bonnet and something underneath.

 

That's exactly when I hear it. The only time I don't get it is when the bonnet has been in the direct sunlight and has warmed up like in this weeks warm weather. Bugs the ***** out of me.

Wow, I thought I was alone. Makes me feel better. Do you all think its the aluminium as the sti had a lightweight bonnet
