Boost Gauge - Why??
Ok I am quite new to modding my Scooby, in fact it is all standard at the moment (MY98 5door).
But what is the point of having a boost gauge or alike?
If someone can give me a good reason why to fit one, then I think my next question is how do you fit them??
Cheers.....

I fitted one to ensure that:
1) I had no nasty problems and the car was achieving full bost when it should etc
2) I needed to calibrate my Dawes Device ;->
I've tucked mine away under the steering wheel next to my left leg as I didn't want mine to be an internal feature.

Rob

Yep, as I said I only used it to check my dawes. I sometimes take a quick peak on WOT in 4th or 5th when on a very long straight, just to check that everything is as it should be. It really is just a quick peak, no more than say changing a radio station ;->

Having a boost gauge tends to become of importance when tuning beyond the standard constraints of the engine.
However, it is also a useful item to ensure that the car is attaining the standard boost pressure set by the manufacturer.
It can also highlight problems that may be associated with the turbo and / or associated control units.

To fit, run a 4 mm flexible rubber hose from the inlet manifold to your gauge, usually fitted anywhere you desire in the cabin. MY98 has a convenient blanked port at the front of the inlet manifold for the pipe.
