Default What liquid???

Hey everyone!
I'm new to scoobs so please bare with me!
Been looking around my car and I found a button no idea what it done until I found a blewn fuse! Swapt fuse over, pressed button and the washer bottle in the back made a noise oooo
Put some water in and it sprays onto the intercooler!
Question is really, I guess it cools the intercooler is this necessary? If so when do I use it and what do I put in the washer bottle just water or mix with something?
Many thanks
Newbie!

It cools the intercooler which gives cooler air (the heat soak from the turbo reduces the effectiveness) which makes the car better. Used when it's hot or enthusiastic driving is happening. Use water.

It will have an AUTO function so the ecu tells it when to work and put de-ionised water in the washer bottle.

Don't think it's got a auto function on all cars. Correct me if I'm wrong but I got a hawkeye stu and its isn't auto. Just manual wen I press the button

Ahhh sorry I've a JDM Type R and that has the AUTO function.

Use as The Trooper 1815 suggested,I was also advised to use it if pulling away after being stuck in traffic, whether the I/C water spray makes an actual affect I've no idea.

de-ionised water with a splash of screen wash will stop nasty mineral deposits building up.
