Secondary Air Pump Failure
Hi, first post - hope someone can help.
Have a 06 WRX, got an engine warning light a couple of days ago. Error codes read P2444 and P1410.
Obviously have traced this back and spoken to dealer\independant so I know the options are either deleting the pump\valves or oem route, complicated by the fact I have a stock ECU (cars stock) so if I do go down the blanking route I think I will need a ecu and remap. couple of quick questions,
1. Spoken to Power Station, local to me, their price is still a bit steep (around £800 by my estimations) as I need the ECUTEK license and remap. Is it possible to remove the codes from the OEM ECU, spoken to main dealers but they obviously won't touch the blanking plate option. Seems mad to get a remap with a stock car.
2. Have started the car but the pump currently gets very hot and is on full time, wonder if one of the valves is stuck open. In which case what damage am I going to do driving it the 10-15miles to get it sorted. Can I easily disconnect and bung the pipes - if so whats the best thing to use?
3. Any recommendations in Glos to get this sorted for reasonable money, quite annoyed that Subaru America recognise this prob and have helped with costsrepairs but nothing in this country. Anyone got any money back from the manufacturer?
Have searched the forum for answers but not found any to the above.
Cheers in advance
Paul

I do deletion of CEL codes without having to have a remap and as I don't use Ecutek then it's not tagged with £150 licence fee either. Give me a shout if you ever come up my way and still have the problem.

I've got the same problem, the difference is I didn't have the check engine light I only found out when I went for a remap and the guy doing the mapping told me that there were error codes flagging up the drivers valve being jammed open.
I was hoping to blank the valves between the valve body and the interconnecting pipe rather than trying to strip out the whole system back to the heads but even if that works will still have to get the codes cleared fro the ECU.

same thing on my 06 NA Forrester..
if one of the valves has gone then the pump wont be far behind, I was suggested to either delete it or replace the lot.
