Classic rods will be stud & nut type cap retention, later newage are bolt cap retention, these are a better rod to use if you have the choice.

Newage WRX's still use the stud and nut, newage STI's use the bolt.

All WRX's use stud and nut, except the 2.5's which are the bolt type, same as the newage STI's exept they are chamfered on the small end to accomodate the 2.5 piston design. Dimensions are the same for all rods CC length etc etc.
