Something's wrong
Hey folks,
I have a 2002 WRX-STI uk. I put the car to my local tuner to be checked out on the rolling road, they said the car was detonating badly and needed mapped. So an ecutek map was put on and it hit the rollers again, It only put out 270 bhp due to maybe bad fuel. they said give it 2-3 tanks of v-power and come back for a map Tweak! So the car is booked in on the 4th may,but the car started under boosting at 0.6 and has continued this for about 3 weeks. I fitted an afterburner vortex back box and straight centre section yesterday before my map tweak to get full power gains, now the car is boosting at 1.1 bar again but this morning while driving slow on a cold start gave out a ( what I would call like some pulled my handbrake on feeling ) the car just felt like a total loss of power for a second.
Help us out guys with ideas on this.

Out of the factory STi shouldn't be detting as they run rich for a variety of reasons.....there was something wrong with it before it was mapped would be my guess.
Did someone mention fuel pump?

Erm this doesn't sound right at all
A 2002 UK STi should not be detting full stop. Unless the car has been messed with via dodgy mods or there is a underlying problem.
Did the tuner investigate and tell you WHY it was detting and what its underlying cause was before remapping it?
And for godsakes don't drive it hard until its properly fixed...the det has already caused excess wear on the bearings as it is, carrying on will just finish them off!

Sorry guys, the car had a fuel pump upgrade during the mapping. Also when I bought the car it hard aftermarket forged pistons installed. My friends did say yesterday that there had been another exhaust on it before. Tuner didn't say why he thought it was detting. They thinking with it running low boost could be down to the boost solenoid??
