Default Cambelt time

I have got a 2003 wrx and it is time for a Campbelt change at the next service. My car has only done 45k miles so would I need to change any of the pulleys?

I know I can get all the parts from import car parts cheap enough but don't want to buy a complete kit ( belt, pulleys etc) if I don't need to.

Any advice please guys and gals?

If your going to change it spend the money and key a cambelt kit, its a lot cheaper than bending valves! it's not hard to do either, I got a complete kit for £200,

hi there i done mine recently, and i changed all the pulleys and tensioner, the whole kit was £180. and for the money it just isnt worth risking engine damage. im sure the pulleys would be fine but it would keep playing on my mind.
so i just changed them for peace of mind.

Everyone dreads doing a cambelt on a scooby but in my opinion it's easier than most cars!

yeah its pretty easy, im a mechanic by trade, but it is an easy job. but if you dont feel confident i would definatly get some one to do as you dont want to mess the timing up and it all go pop

Mate i am due my cambelt change as my car is now 6 years old but olny covered 24K. I have been advised that for the sake of £50 -£60 its worth doing as it will be the weak link so to speak. not only that but you would have to do it and spend the money again at the slightest wine coming from the belt.
