Legacy GTB Rear Wheel Arch Rust - options please?
Hi, just back from a depressing visit to local bodyworks who've suggested I should run GTB until it becomes an MOT failure, as not worth repairing.
All from some rust in the first 1 or 2 inches up from the wheelarch edge.
He said that maybe if there was a substitute wheelarch repair panel then maybe feasible, but even then it means cutting out, inner arch maybe rusted, need to remove fuel tank and inner fittings etc etc
And not even looking for a perfect job as car's done 170k and is a 98 silver GTB (and as a family car over last 12 years its got many scratches and small dents anyway).
Anyone here have any advice? I'm not up to any complex DIY job but would be prepared to spend a few hundred quid to keep car going for a few years longer....
