GT30 on a 2.0?
I may have the chance of a GT30 for my blobeye WRX, I was wondering if this would be laggy on a 2.0 as most seem to say it's better suited to the 2.5 for this reason?
This is my daily driver doing 50 miles a day for work and drivability and reliability are important.
I'm currently running sti turbo, I/C, injectors, uprated fuel pump, sports cat and cat back with an andy forrest remap giving 335bhp.
I'm looking for about 400bhp as I'm not wanting to start forging, swapping gearbox, injectors etc. I believe with the right turbo, up-pipe, equal length headers and a remap this should be achieveable?

Have look at MD321 or SC46 series these turbos are based on Garrett GT30 cores and i don't think they're laggy..
About the yours WRX,you will need 6speed and FMIC,plus at least 650cc injectors and headers GT spec are mainly used
At 400bhp you must swap gearbox for 6speed,because your box will not hold this power and not sure if its your engine hold too power.
TD05-20G should be good and maybe with this turbo you can be near 400bhp,but still with your 5speed and 550cc injectors, not sure

Thanks Jura,
I'm basing most my info on andy forrest's website which may be a bit biased going that they're selling bits so I may be wrong.
Would Sti pinks not be suitable for the 400 mark, maybe by adding a FPR?
I believe the STi top mount I/C should be up to the job, am I wrong?
I know the gearbox is probably at it's limits at 400bhp odd but I dont do hard launches or frequent fast gearchanges so hoping it should be okay, andy forrest website says "Level 3 Power may shorten the life of the transmission system this will depend on use and driving style. The 01 onwards UK 5 speeds do currently seem to be coping well with this level of output although as mileage increases this may become more of an issue.", my mileage is at 50k.
I'm waiting on an email with the exact spec of the turbo so I'll know more on that soon hopefully.

Hi there
With FPR your 550cc(Sti pink injectors) can see 400bhp,but for safety i would have look for 650cc,but that's me what i would do
Yes your TMIC will be good at this power level, about the gearbox not sure,i've seen few boxes broken at 350bhp,some still running 5speed at 400bhp...
I would ask Andy F about the his TD05-20G billet, with this turbo you can do 400bhp without the problems
