Default Walbro Fuel pump fitting ?? different from stock

Hi all just fitting a fuel pump today and came across a couple of differences.

My standard one has a longer pick up that's almost parallel with the fuel sock. The pump seems to be bigger as well. The one I want to install with the walbro has a shorter pick up and slightly different wiring.
I have enclosed pics below.

I just want to know if I can just install the whole unit. Also I would of thought having the pick up further in the tank would be better ??
Advice please

Standard pump on left, Walbro on the right

thanks all

Use the sock filter from your old pump.

hi, the pump sounds and now run fine.
But after 10 or 15 minutes the pump makes a lot of sound... like scream,,,, and the air/fuel ratio changes to lean....

Is necesary to connect the part mark in green?

i wired mine in (the part marked in green) - if you read the rexnet guide in the post above yours it tells you its not strictly nessecary.

make sure you use the sock from the stock pump it faces the opposite way and when i fitted mine i had to cut the metal pipe where the pump connects to the craddle as it was to long and was causing the pump to sit at an angle and created a screaming noise once in the tank.
