polar performance chip
hi i have a my96 uk 2000 which i bought cheeeep , i have on order a cone filter decat uppipe, downpipe and centre pipe, headers manifold have a 16g tdo5,walbro fuel pump and fmic.now ecu wise i don`t want to pay bucks for a setup really as i plan to sell the car after some summer fun. so ive seen these polar performance chips for my model which raise the boost ,new fuel map etc etc.
if i fit all these parts together will this chip map be sufficient to make them all work well together an safely because ive heard good things about this chip
and if so what sort of horsepower will the scoob achieve

Major_Sarcasm chips are similar to the PolarPerformance chips... I have a chip for my car running the same mods as you. Major Sarcasm puts a generic map on for the mods you have, so mine should work in yours...
Mine may be for sale soon as ive got a ESL

I know a few people who run a PP chip with the above mods, with no real issues. However, an ESL is the best option to get the most power and reliability. I run a FMIC etc... on a PP chip with no problems. Id imagine the power to be around 275-285bhp.

Yeah totally. I had my AFR's checked, and they were all ok... Its the dodgy ebay chips i would be wary off. The genuine Scott T and Major Sarcasm chips are ok. But ESL is the way to go to make the most of the mods.
i had the same mods on a uk 2000 that i sold a few months back the only difference was it had an apexi ecu and 550 injectors but that made just over 340 bhp on the rollers and was the fastest scooby ive ever had ,so 275-285 seems a little stingy to me
Major_Sarcasm was telling me he had quite a few base maps depending on mods... The most mods he had maps for were FMIC, Headers, decat, exhaust, fuel pump... nothing more then that
Every car is different. My car made 265bhp on the rollers, before i added the PP chip. No idea what its making now. ESL or an aftermarket ECU is the way to go if you want big power, the chip is just a cheap way of upping the boost, fueling and timing.
+1 nothing beats a new ECU, im not arguing against that, as ive just got myself a ESL...

This is an ESL, as said above, its kinda like a chip, but allows for mappers to "remap" this chip to suit the car. It also keeps the standard protection features which you will when replacing to something like an Apexi
A chip is far from your best solution. Why not start looking out for a secondhand Apexi, Simtek or similar that can be mapped specifically to your engine modifications. This will be safer and realise the potential of your modifications.
Hi All,
I have a beleived genuine IMP-ECU-S2-V18 ( KC ) 275C Polar Performance chip and wondered if anyone can tell me the code it relates to.
I think it is for a TD05 UK or WRX pre 96 model year car.?
I have a low mileage 95 UK turbo with a TD05 and need some reliable info that this code would be safe on my car.
Please help guy's.
Regards,
Richard.
