Default BOOST SOLONIOD TEST

I have a my 95 classic and just lately been having trouble with when its on boost it holds back and very hesitant.i done a boost soloniod test by connecting the wires up under the dash and it is clicking.does this mean boost soloniod is ok.also tried cleaning solonoid with carb cleaner and no dirt come out,any aadvice welcome.also bit confused that imgetting speed sensor fault code coming up,would that effect the boost.

That would be my first port of call - especially now you've said Baileys. Have you got another VTA or recirc to try on the car?

I had this on my mates 95 classic yesterday, check engine light flashed up 33,car would drive ok ,till you put your foot down then it went in to 'limp ' mode,it turned out to be the speedo cable not plugged in and the outer cable had split. Sourced another within the hour and car is running fine. Also agree with the above as the baileys dump valve not the best and are prone for weakness, just fitted a std recirc to my mates car after he has a baileys, hks,GFB,and a forge dv in the last 6 months.

everything was on car when i got it,the speedo cable was in the back of clocks but clocks are no good,i had a look at the cable and the end of it is snapped, just curious as when i do a ecu reset it will be fine for a little while but when u start boosting it will bring up the fault code and start holding back and kangarooing,i am surprised that it would have this effect bieng down to a broken cable, and i would like to put back the original recirc dump valve on it if i can find one.

A disconnected or broken speedo cable will cause your problems. The ecu will not be recieving any info from the speed sensor and will therefor go into safe mode.

Repair the cable first, before messing with anything else.

Yes mate it did,as posted above the speed sensor could not determine the speed so car went into limp mode every time you booted it. A new cable and car was sorted.

when i go to boot the car at low revs it doesnt seem to want to go unless i change down a gear, i thought this was due to abit of turbo lag, somones mentiond to me now about the boost solonoid might hav gona. how can you test this to see if its ok?

Boost solenoid can get clogged up, the easiest way to clean it , is to disconnect the pipes on your solenoid and connect the green & black wires together and switch your ignition on. You should hear the boost solenoid clicking , then spray brake cleaner through the top hoses. Simple
