Default ecu swop question

im just wondering would a simtec ecu from a version 3 sti work on a version 5 sti, i always thought the v3 and v4 were the same the v5 and v6 ere the same. just someone else is telling me different, simtec could be more interchangable i suppose

I'm 99% certain, NO.

MY93-96 v.1/2
MY97/98 v.3/4
MY99/00 v.5/6

I don't think there's any compatibility between those above three MY brackets.
