Default HELP!! Why am I getting sudden power loss....

This morning on the way to work I was over taking a car and as I hit say 4-4500 rpm I lost power suddenly...
A little bit like if any of you have an anti Hi-jack device installed when it kills the power and then gives it back almost straight away.
I am not technical at all but it felt a little like it maybe miss-firing... Anyway, i stayed below 3,500 rpm the rest of the journey and it was fine.... Don't want to try putting my foot down in case something goes POP!!!
Any thought anyone, much appreciated!

Could boost cut really produce such a harsh sudden power loss??

LOL! thanks Scoobybry!
What could be causing this??

I can only think that racing an Evo FQ360 Tuesday night has something to do with it, but it seemed fine yesterday....
And I was not pushing it hard this morning when it happened!

dont quote me on this but it is due to your ecu thinking you are getting to much air in the system! ( may even be a split pipe fingers crossed) A tweek on the ecu will sort it if it is the ecu.

one of the more clued up peps on here will let you know i am sure !

my turbo keeps falling off boost in 4th and 5th took it to a specialist near here and he said its most likely an air system problem ie leaking/split pipe worth a try i would say!

had something similar a while back on my My00, turnned out to be a dodgy pipe clip holding the samco hose onto the inter cooler ,it was ok in normal driving but once onto boost the pipe would expand and the clip would slip its threads, felt like hitting a brickwall, took a bit of head scratching to find it!!
