Default Cambelt Change Intervals

Have just bought an 05 plate WRX with 50,000 on the clock and checking through the bundle of invoices that came with the car cannot see the cambelt being changed.

Does anyone know what the official Subaru suggested changing schedule is?

it needs doing now then, price vary`s dependent on where you are and who does it, expect to pay anywhere between £150 for supply and fit belt to £300+ for the timing belt kit including tensioners and pulleys fitted.

5 years or 50,000 miles, whatever comes first.

date wise your car might not need it just yet, but mileage it's due.

seems the seller got shot just before landing a big bill. sorry mate

Good job I've kept some money in reserve, have been quoted £200+Vat at Prosport Stockport for a new belt. The last service was carried out by Carcraft so a new belt and service were first on the list of things to do.

bear in mind there's a good chance you'll need a tensioner aswell and that's dearer than the belt!

don't mean to be all doom and gloom, just qouting from what i had to pay a few weeks ago when i had mine done. first real big bill i've had for the car

welcome to the world of scoobys by the way and the world of an empty wallet

enjoy
