Default 94 Turbo 2000 engine into Version 3 STi shell..

Is there any complications with this swap? As far as I know with mine being Phase1 and the Version 3 being Phase1.5, should be plug and play.

Any help would be great

Only thing I'm confused about so far, is coilpacks, they're different.

And my ECU fitting?

just swap the engine and heads and use your existing inlet manifold and loom. All it would cost you is about £12 for some inlet manifold gaskets. Not a difficult job in the least.

So where the ECU plugs in, will not differ from it being a UK to an Import?

Thanks Daz

You wont need to touch ECU wiring. Just connect the engine loom on the manifold using the two connectors near the battery.

What exactly is the problem with the old V3 STI Engine?

Whilst it should all work ok with the car being an STI you might be better off swapping the heads over too. Obviously you'll have issues with the heads on the new engine not being STI ones and cams not being as aggressive etc. Engine swaps can get complicated if they are not like for like.

I did it the other way put an STI engine in Turbo 2000. Fired first turn of the key using UK ECU. I even drove it to Scotland (offboost) to get it mapped). So you should be ok.

I'm buying a new shell as my 1994 Turbo 2000 Wagon shell is rusting and very tatty.

So I'm buying a Version 3 STi shell and was going to put my engine into the Version 3 shell and use my ECU. Just keep it as is but in a different shell.

So I still want to use my ECU.

Not sure if your current ECU has different plugs (4) or not so that could complicate things. Your best bet is to get hold of a V3 Inlet and Loom and put that on the your current engine and use the ECU of the V3 car if you have it.

If you get stuck I have both ECU and Inlet and loom from a V3 STI. Although I'd rather no part with them just yet in case I need them for my build

So if my ECU has 4 plugs, it should fit? otherwise it wont?

Then the only way for me to get it running is to fit..

Version 3 STi inlet manifold
Version 3 STi engine loom
Versio 3 STi ECU

I'm guessing I'd then need 440cc injectors as currently mine are only 380cc iirc.

As far as I know the ECU from the shell has been sold, so if my ECU differs, I'm guessing I'll be on the look out for all the above?

Thanks again for all your help Daz
