I think the power steering pump on my '96 classic is on it's way out.
Is it very easy to replace it with one from a facelift model as i've been thinking about possibly converting to front entry in the future ?

the pulleys will not be aligned correctly if you use one off a 01 and later model and the belt will keep coming off. Tried it myself still got the 02 sti pump gathering dust in the garage. should be okay with a V5 one but i would still check pulley alignment before you buy.

Not sure about newage ones, but all facelift FE Turbo'd cars power steering pumps are a pretty much direct swap.
