Default BOTTOM END THEORY

hi. aswel as loving the skoobys i also love the honda vtecs. a mod thats been really big trend amongst vtec enthusiasts is the b20 bottom end conversion to the b16a engine. this was a cheap solution on gaining power. could the same be done with a classic wrx to safely push power up without blowing the bottom end. say around 330bhp which could be used everyday. cheers

am sorry i didnt make it clear. instead i confused a few lads . what i mean is is there a bigger bottom end of another subaru which can be fitted so that you have a stronger bottom end to allow you to increase your power. could a 94wrx handle 330bhp with stock internals without blowing up. just want to up the power on mine without having a crisis a few months down the line. cheers

should be able to handle 330bhp all day long (with the proper supporting mods) aslong as its well looked after (regular servicing etc) IMHO

yep and open deck block is fine for those power levels as well. A lot of people jump on the "must go closed deck route" it isnt needed for most peoples modest gains there are quite a few over 400 on open deck
