Estimated power
Good Day all
I have a JDM 1993 WRX with front mount intercooler, induction kit, aftermarket dump valve, de-cat standard width down pipe and de-cat 76mm exhaust. I had the car on the dyno(rolling road) and it made 184.4KW of power and 348N.m of torque on the standard U8 ecu. I'm planning to install a dastek uniQ+ to sort out the timing and fueling. My question is what sort of power should I see with the piggy back installed. Thanks.

still on standard injectors then around 290.. other have made more they vary a fair amount at this age..
unichip wouldn't be my choice of tuning though..
piggy back imho should be kept for stuff where there is no reasaonbly priced after market replacements.

Thanks for the reply Simon. Unfortunately, here in South Africa the only replacement ECU's that are readily available is Gotech, Diktator and MSX which don't come anywhere close to the likes of Link, Motec, etc...
Link and those types of ECU's are very hard to get hold of here, which means buying them overseas and that costs a small fortune here which is why I chose Dastek as there is only 95 unleaded fuel here, I want to map the car for that fuel.
You say around 290, at what bar or psi is this power figure achieved? Thanks

The car came from Japan with these mods. From reading many previous threads, I know that a remap is needed to make full use of the mods. I just put it on the dyno just to see what it was pushing out.
Classic shape scoobys are very rare here. They only arrived on our shores in 1998 and was called the GT. The Sti version never made it here, only the new age bugeye came in STi guise.
JDM classic shape scoobys are unheard of here. There are only 3 in the country including mine, so getting a remap here is virtually impossible....

Sure.
...Same as for our Antipodean friends.
.
For the record, your RSADM import 'GT' is the same as the UKDM ('Turbo 2000 AWD')/EurDM ('GT')/AusDM & NZDM ('WRX') versions I think, in that they are effectively a detuned JDM WRX, with less aggressive ECU settings to run on 95 RON. They have 208 or 215bhp (155-160kW).
That's amazing that there are only 3 in your country! WTF
. Does your country have draconian, swinging import taxes/duties (i.e. "thou shalt not have fun" taxes
) on the JDM cars or something?

Import cars are not allowed in this country because they are so cheap for fear of damaging the market. A stock standard clean GT can fetch as much as 10000 pounds here whereas I paid 2200 pounds for my car. My car is registered in Swaziland although I live in Cape Town. You are correct regarding the GT.
