weird footwell leak -help please
Anyone had a leak into their front footwells where the water collects on the top of the carpetted sill at the bottom of the door and then flows into footwell. It seems to be coming down the very edge of the dash somwhere but even with a pressure washer I can't figure it out.It only seems to happen when it rains
Having searched the forums I'm no further on.

Not in a scoob, but when I was a student I had a beat up old VW golf. When it was raining, every time I put my foot on the clutch, water would literally pour onto my foot.

Well same problem with my car as the original poster, not sure what you mean? The water most definately isnt from the heater matrix as I havent driven the car for weeks and this started happening now when we've gotten really heavy rain.
Do you have a picture of where these grommets are?
I've noticed also that the black trimming that goes on top of the roof near the side windows is kind of loose, the car has been repainted at some point and the trim isnt all the way in. Can this cause a problem or is should the water run down somewhere not causing any problems like this?
How do I check my front windos seals if they are shot or not? Can I adjust the windows for better contact with the seals? Where is the best place to source new window seals?

No, sorry. One is on the passenger side, on cars with aircon, the pipes go through it. It's oval, about 1.5" along it's longer diameter. It's about 10-12" below the top of the bulkhead. The other is roughly in the same place on the driver's side and under the clutch master cylinder.

If you mean the front windscreen, take it to a windscreen fitting place. Once they get the trim off, they'll be able to see if the seals are shot. If the screen has ever been replaced, that would be my bet as to where the water is getting in.
