Do you have air con? If it's not been run for a while it can make a noise. Not sure if its a 'eeeeee eee eeeeeee eee eeeeee' noise

Could well be. Just take it for a run with the air con on (open the window if you like). Let it run for about 30 mins and it should stop. This happened to mine and I now just switch it on once a month and its never returned. If it still makes the noise after then it is time to look elsewhere.

As you look at the front of the engine its the pulley on the top right hand corner of the engine.
