Default boost solenoid...

hi guys. have a similar problem to another member on here regards a kangaroo type delivery on boost.

noticed its mainly when the weathers colder in 3-5th gears.

so i tried yesterday cleaning the (2 port) solenoid out with some squirts of wd40.

car spluttered a little afterwards and idled funny but its fine now.

buurrrt, the problems still there. this morning i got a flyer at 2am and took it for a quick blast up a 2 lane carriage way, uphill then back down again (motlash if anyone knows scunny).

what id like to know (besides an obvious remap), is there anything else i could do myself to try solve this issue? im unsure whether its a blocked pipe or an ecu thing.

i pretty much know for a fact the car was once non standard, as theres evidence to show an induction kit, possible 3 port solenoid, different ecu etc etc were all once present.

the scoobs a my99 uk, but has a my00 ecu

besides that she seems happy enough.

suggestions?

Hi
I take it you have checked for the usual air leak , I had a very sim prob turned out to be a pin hole in the intercooler pipe

Is the restrictor pill still in the Pipework of the Boost Solenoid??

Its just that if it possibly did have a 3 port previously, then someone may have removed the restictor pill or even drilled an oversized hole, which may cause boost issues.

Dont take my advice for Granted though i'm no Pro.

in the small vacuum pipe from the turbo - normally marked with a white line or similar but you can feel it if you squeeze the pipes
