Default Can anyone explain dump valve differences?

Hi

Can somone explain to me why the standard dump valve on my 02 sti is better than say a Bailey or HKS SSQV?

I know that there are recirculating and vent to atmosphere types but can someone explain the differences?

Thanks very much

Andy

dump valves. All the air going in to the engine is metered through the MAF. On a VTA dump valve this metered air is removed from the system and so alters the AFR making the car run rich. You will more than likely see a performance DECREASE briefly and it will probably run like a dog.

Standard dump valve is a recirculating one i.e. it dumps all the air back in the system post maf.

i've just put a forge re circ back on mine mainly because i was sick of the noise from my hks ssq, anyway i have to report back that it runs a lot better with the re circ back on, not coz it was losing power but its a hell of alot smoother accelerating and changing gear. don't know if anyone else has experienced this
