Default SICK SCOOBY.....HELP!!!!

Hi I'm new to the site and have recently imported a 2001 automatic forester s/tb sti2 from japan. Had some trouble with it since i done an oil change and had no drive which later turned out to be no gearbox fluid in the box! Had someone reseal the leak and fill the fluid and while he was doing that he tightened or resealed the kilometer sensor. After the test drive to see if it was fine I noticed a small bit of blue smoke from the exhaust which he said was normal as it was parked up for a week after the oil change and needed to be driven! The smoke has got worse and a big cloud comes from the exhaust when I start it up but after a minute of driving it's gone even when I put the foot down! There's no warning lights on the dash and the temp is normal and there's plenty of coolant and it still drives and boosts normal! The only difference from before and after the fluid changes is that the car is idling a slight bit lower and the exhaust is a bit noisier and there's an unusual smell from it and has even back fired in high revs but I've put some engine cleaning product in it which might be the cause of that. I know blue smoke is oil burning and could be anything from head gasket, piston rings, leaking turbo or fluid leak but it's just too much of a coincidence after the work being done because it never gave me a problem before it! Anyone who can help will be greatly appreciated as I'm hoping it's not going to be a costly repair! Cheers!

I hope there isnt too much oil in the sump? First thing to check.

Otherwise possible oil contamination of the crancase recirc line during oil filling or possible turbo fault.

Default update on sick forester sti!

well found the cause of the blue smoke from the exhaust! checked the dip stick and there was twice!! the amount of oil in the engine than should be! the gimp i got to change the oil drained the gearbox oil instead of the engine oil and double filled the engine thinking it was empty! hence the reason why it wouldn't move when i put it in D! had to take over 2 and a half liters of oil out and whatever was burned while i was driving it! but it seems to be driving fine now and even managed to smoke an rx7 on the test drive So the moral of the story is not to let a cabbage who can't tell the differance between the sump and the gearbox! cheers to beastie and all for the help!!
